These are the costumes we have found inspired by the Xbox game Red dead Redemption, These costumes are similar to what we would like to wear in our music video to create character representation, and show characters personality and diversity.

this is our idea for the back cover.

We have decided to go with these ideas as they are in the style of Kasabian and are very simple, and they use the same font, we have tryed to incorporate into the artowrk some of the themes included in the plot of our narrative for our music video to give the audience a bit of insight into the music video.

Amon Dull II - made in Germany

This is a piece of artwork called 'Made in Germany' - created by a German Rock band called Amon Dull II, This artwork is what inspired Kasabians third album cover, West Ryder pauper lunatic asylum.

Kasabian Artwork

We have chosen to do the band Kasabian's single Fire as our music video. So for inspiration for what we would like our CD cover to look like we have been looking at all of Kasabians artwork for all there promo singles and album releases, All of their covers seem to be quite simple and focus on an element of mystery including colour especially all of their earlier releases the ones at the bottom of the picture, but some such 'Empire' the album cover does have connotations that link to the title as the album is called empire, and the image used is that of a roman soldiers which relates to the roman empire.'

We have decided to use simple symbolic imagery on the front cover that relates to some scenes in our film, such as shooting a native american riding a horse, which links into our western theme and also the plot of our video.

A2 media studies Creative project (initial ideas)

A2 Media Studies Advanced Production (Music Video) review questions

Media blog review questions

1. From my planning at the beginning of the A2 media course in preparation for the practical music work I found that some of the software that is required can be quite challenging, in particular Photoshop. I found Photoshop quite difficult to use as it is not very straightforward, to be able to move and delete things you have to go through transforms rather than simply being able to delete or click on them and move them. So in the end I just experimented with the software and it came out good in the end.

2. I did find it easier to use final cut this time around even though before I was quite experienced with final cut anyway but this time I was even more used to it so I could use it better and much more fluently, With it you can slow the film down, add colour filters over the top of the film, add effects to link different parts of the clips together, and you can also put different parts off the film together to change the sequence.

3. I don’t think our video was that close to original as we didn’t have enough people, the right props, location and also we couldn’t film the whole thing in the same style as the original due to restrictions on our available filming environment. With the DVD cover however I tried to make it original rather than making it look similar to the original.

4. I think I worked efficiently as a member of a team and in general I think everyone contributed effectively to form a good team effor

Lip synch video: Florence and the Machine - You've got the love

We chose to lip synch to You've got the love by Florence and the machine as from the list of the songs we were provided, this is the one we like the most and we also felt that it would be the easiest one to lip synch to. We found the lip synching quite easy with some members of the group finding it easier than others to lip synch. We chose to do most of the shots in the video at a mid shot length like a lot of other real life music videos, i think this shot is used quite alot as it not only shows the singers actions in the video but also the scenery and the background which is effective and makes the video more relative to the music. I think our video was slightly similar to some other music videos as we included a few different shots and tryed to give the sequence a clear beginning and ending, using the two stationary shots of the heart and the word love. Next time i think that we should be abit more confident with the lip-synching because as this was our first attempt we was a little unsure of how to lip synch effectively however i feel it was a good first attempt.
